Exploration & Prospecting Permits

Shefa Yamim obtained an Exploration permit from the official state authorities in Israel (the Supervisor of Mines at the Ministry of National Infrastructure). To date ten (10) consecutive permits have been issued to the Company allowing exploration and prosepcting efforts. The main area of interest encompasses the Zvullun Valley (Kishon River) and Mount Carmel. The Zvullun Valley is a graben setting that is filled with a variety of interlocking sedimentary environments, such alluvial fan, marine, lagoon and fluvial. It is this valley that has delivered high interest results, notably diamonds. In contrast, Mount Carmel is an elevated region and is one of only two locations in Israel where ancient volcanism has occurred. There are a number of volcanic bodies and Shefa Yamim has demonstrated that some have kimberlitic signatures.

Company Laboratories

Projects are driven from the Nesher laboratory in the northern Israel where in-house geologists specialising in mineral and diamond exploration are employed. The laboratory has the capacity to process bulk (100 tons+), drill and prospecting samples (100kg) for mineral extraction.
Precious stones and associated minerals are sorted and extracted for verification using a variety of sophisticated techniques. Third party institutions like the Technion Institute and Be’er Sheva University, Geological Survey of Israel (GSI), De Beers Africa exploration laboratory (South Africa), SGS Minerals Services (Canada) and Mineral Services Laboratories (South Africa) have and continue to be engaged for their expertise in rock and mineral sample analyses.

Findings

To date, Shefa Yamim’s exploration projects have yielded a number of exciting discoveries. These are:-

A) 76 micro, macro and commercial size diamond crystals and fragments;
B) Kimberlitic Indicator Minerals (KIMs);
C) An associated suite of other precious minerals such as Moissanite, Sapphire, Ruby, various Corundum, colourless Zircon, red Rutile, Kyanite and more.

Potential

The discovery of diamonds and associated Kimberlitic Indicator Minerals suggest primary sources of kimberlitic affinity within Mount Carmel that are potentially diamond-bearing. Assessing their potential will form an integral part of Shefa Yamim’s ongoing programmes. In addition, some of the mineral suites found have independent market value, such as Sapphires and Moissanite and thus could have potential to be exploited.  World experts are closely watching Shefa Yamim’s progress as the discovery of diamonds and kimberlitic bodies in Israel is unique. These facts clearly suggest that the permit areas currently held by Shefa Yamim is extremely valuable and those affiliations associated with the Company stand to benefit when mining activities take place.
