Precious stones & KIM

Thousand of associated mineral grains: Ilminite, Garnet (Pyrope), Spinel, Moissanite, Sapphire, Ruby,
Corundum, Kyanite, Rutile, Zircon and the like have been found.
All precious stones and associated minerals were initially recognized and microscopically tested at the Shefa Yamim laboratory with the purpose of finding their optical (transparency, luster and isotropy) and physical (SG and hardness) properties. Each stage of laboratory testing and their respective outcomes are recorded both by hand and on the Shefa Yamim computer database. Analyzed material including mineral findings is packed in special boxes that are stored and available for future re-testing, if necessary. Some of the associated minerals were tested using the SEM method at the Geological Survey of Israel, De Beers Africa Exploration Laboratory and Mineral services Laboratories (South Africa).
