Drillings

Additional drilling in the Kishon graben (Boreholes SY-20, SY-21, SY-23, SY-24):

Since Shefa Yamim obtained the necessary authorisation from relevant authorities (Kishon River Authority, Kishon River Drainage Authority, Kibbutz Yagur, Mekorot National Water Co., Zevulun Regional Council, KKL – Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael) to allow further drilling in the area and since borehole SY-18 ended at 13.5 metre, the company decided to continue drilling between boreholes SY-6 and SY-1.
During the 21-27 August 2008, drilling targeted the Kishon graben at 4 additional sites between SY-1 and SY-6 (SY-20, SY-21, SY-23, SY-24) to a maximum depth of 60 metres.

Borehole SY-20:  total depth of the drilling: 25.30 meter.

Borehole SY-21:  total depth of the drilling: 25.0 meter.

Borehole SY-23:  total depth of the drilling: 23.20 meter.

Borehole SY-24: total depth of the drilling: 25.20 meter.

The drilling was carried out by the Beigel Drilling Ltd. Corporation under the supervision of Shefa Yamim’s geological team. The diameter of each hole was 50-55 cm. The area was selected to gain information of the Kishon River, particularly where no prior drilling was undertaken.

Shefa Yamim Drilling - SY-18 (20-21 August 2008):

During 20-21 August 2008, Shefa Yamim drilled borehole SY-18. The drill site, near to Kiryat Haroshet, was selected to determine if the occurrence of Kimberlitic Indicator Minerals and/or diamonds extended farther south. In addition, the site is located where the Kishon River valley narrows to form a potential trapsite. The hole ended at 13.5 metres based on the local geology.

Drill SY-16,  SY-17 - 15th Tammuz 5766 (10-11 July, 2006):

The drill site is located next to borehole number SY-6. This drilling was to confirm Ground Round Acoustic Penetration (GAP) results. The geophysical survey was conducted by InterGeoRAP Consulting during August 2004. Small diameter drilling was carried out by “Moshe Bar - Test Drilling Ltd.”, under the supervision of Shefa Yamim’s geological team. Drilling was completed at a depth of 35 metres.

Drill SY-15 (15 November 2004):

This site was targeted to ascertain the continuity of geological formations intersected at hole SY-14. Drilling began in 2nd Kislev 5765 (15 November 2004) and was stopped at 60 metres by the Shefa Yamim’s geological team. The drill hole yielded approximately 40 tons of material for processing.

Drill SY-14, 20th Cheshvan 5765 (4 November 2004)

On 20th Cheshvan 5765 (4 November 2004), Shefa Yamim drilled a new large diameter hole, SY-14.
This formed part of the project scope to assess Exploration permit no. 74, which was granted to the Company by the Inspector of Mines from the Ministry of National Infrastructure.
The hole, roughly one metre in diameter, was drilled approximately 100 metres from drill site SY-11 by “Tzementecal” (Solel Boneh) under technical supervision of “Bagel Drilling Ltd.” and Shefa Yamim’s geological team. On 27th Heshvan 5765 (11 November 2004) drilling ceased at 56.2 metres due to technical problems. The drill hole yielded some 120 tons of material for processing.

Drill SY-13 - 8nd Kislev 5765 (21 November 2004):

The drill site is located next to borehole SY-3 that was drilled during December 1999.
The hole, roughly one metre in diameter, was drilled by “Tzementecal” (Solel Boneh) under technical supervision of “Bagel Drilling Ltd.” and Shefa Yamim’s geological team.
Drilling began in 8nd Kislev 5765 (21 November 2004) and was completed at 13nd Tevet 5765 (13 December 2004) at a depth of 81 metres, yielding approximately 155 tons of material for processing at Shefa Yamim’s laboratory.

Shefa Yamim - first 10 drillings (1999-2000)

In line with the project scope to assess the third and fourth permits granted to Shefa Yamim, the Company drilled ten core holes along the Kishon river bed. Under close geological supervision, the holes were drilled by Baigel Drillings Ltd. Corporation to a maximum depth of 300 metres. The combined depth of the 10 holes amounted to 2,150 metres, yielding approximately 6.2 tons of material.
